PchiruShelni or Bomena is a sexual practice in rural Bhutan. It is popularly known as ‘Night Hunting’ among the literate. ‘pchiru’ means night and ‘shelni’ means to wander around (that men wander in search of women).

Despite this custom consider to be absurd, there is gender equality. The girl has the right to reject the guy's proposal and pursue him out of her room. The guy has be to able to persuade the girl before she can be on his side.
In the situation whereby the guy was caught, If the girl's parents doesn't like him, he would be thrown out through the window, but if the parents likes him, the guy would be forced to marry the girl.
There are some situations whereby the girl's parents might be aware of the presence of the guy but pretend to be asleep if the guy is the suitor they will like to have for their daughter.
In addition, we would highlight some things you should also know about the Bhutanese.
1) We know you might find it hard to believe this but it is a fact that there are no traffic lights in Bhutan.
2) You can never find a piece of plastic in Bhutan.
3) Yet another interesting fact is that every Bhutanese is considered a year older on New year's day, unlike some parts of the world where the birth month is considered.
4) In Bhutan, happiness prevails over GDP. The Bhutanese are famous for considering their happiness before any other thing.
5) There is a mountain in Bhutan that no one has ever reached its peak. The mountain is called Gangkhar Puensum.
6) This fact will amaze you. In Bhutan, the Phallus is considered a symbol of good luck and good chances of fertility, it is mostly drawn on the walls of their houses.
7) Like some parts of Nigeria, Bhutanese loves spicy foods.
8) All Bhutanese must wear their national attire.
