Meet The World's First Pregnant Man

Thomas Trace Beatie is an American public speaker, author, and advocate of transgender and sexuality issues, with a focus on transgender fertility and reproductive rights. Thomas was born on January 20, 1974. 



In 1996, Beatie graduated from the University of Hawaii with a bachelor's degree in health science (pre-med) and later pursued an Executive MBA. He competed in full-contact fighting and was a black belt and tournament champion in Taekwondo.

Thomas became a trans man in the 1997( a trans man is a man who was assigned female at rest), and he undergone a assignmentnt surgery in 2002. He became the first pregnant man after he became pregnant through artificial insemination in 2007. Beatie wife, Nancy, was infertile that was why he took the pregnancy burden upon him. 

 He was able to become pregnant, having retained his female reproductive organs. Beatie has given birth to four children. 


Beatie gave birth to his first child, Susan, in June 29, 2008, his second child on the June 2009 and the third child was born in July 2010. 




Guinness World Records 2010, named Beatie the "World's First Married Man to Give Birth". In a TV broadcast from Rome, Italy, Guinness World Records presented him with the title of "Unico Uomo Incinto al Mondo," translated as "World's First Pregnant Man."

 In 2008, Beatie authored his first book titled Labor of love: The story of one man extraordinary pregnancy. 

Thomas Beatie has received many awards and honours.
